FANTASTIC food and staff! Even brought a blanket out for my wife when she insisted on dining outside :)

Over-salting Unfortunately 3 out of 4 dishes were way too salted. I had a saddle of veal steak that, like the vegetables, was cooked perfectly to the point. The steak was good, but the potatoes with it weren't a little too salty. The same result, even stronger, with the fried potatoes and the schnitzel in 2 other dishes. Really a shame. The actually very good food was spoiled by it. If it was reasonably salted, I would give it 5 points, as the service was friendly and good, as was the atmosphere.

Outrageous, almost disrespectful reception at the door. There were three of us and we didn't make a reservation, but that is no reason for the unfriendly expulsion. We disposed of the given business card in the nearest trash can!

Nice end to the family business "s'Wirtshaus" in the heart of Oberammergau. We were particularly impressed by the cozy atmosphere, the hospitable and cordial service, as well as the very good food. We would love to come back :)

Great price and food.

I ate in the restaurant with my family and had a small portion of cheese spaetzle and a side salad. The cheese spaetzle costs 8.80 euros and the salad 4.60 euros. A large portion of cheese spaetzle including a side salad costs 12.80 euros according to the menu. The invoice will be charged with EUR 8.80 and EUR 4.60 = EUR 13.40. When I asked, the waitress told me that it was correct that my order, at EUR 13.40, was more expensive than the large portion of cheese spaetzle including salad. This will be confirmed when asked by the boss. I think that's outrageous.

Yes, I was there. Great restaurant. Great food and awesome staff. They told me it was a small dish but it was a big plate to eat. My hunger matched it and I enjoyed it so much. Great regional beer and weisebier.

Great food, great service! Good price. We dined as a family, the service was very attentive and fast! The schnitzel with mustard & horseradish was fantastic, highly recommended for a hearty meal! 5 Stars!

Good food at the right price. Attentive, courteous and helpful staff. Beware of good antiCovid rules. The only flaw: I found the reused paper coasters.

We were there for the first time today with our two daughters. Very nice staff and also very nice boss. The food was delicious. There is also a card for children. Absolutely top price. We will come back.

Just been there, very tasty and fresh food, waiters very friendly and quick, very pleased. Big plus point; the restaurant was already full and everything was tried to give us a table inside, but when this was not possible we were asked if we would eat outside, when we answered yes we were given a blanket per person.

Central location. With sunshine and maximum summer temperatures, it sits very well under the awning on the right or left of the entrance. From here you can also watch the hustle and bustle on the square in front of the tavern. Our well-chilled drinks were impeccable, the service quick and friendly.

Great service, great food, that's how it should be! Yesterday we spent a very pleasant evening in Oberammergau, which was from A to Z. The two ladies in the service were well coordinated, very friendly and courteous, had an eye for the guests and the desire to serve them. And you can tell. The cheese spaetzle was good (but with roasted onions instead of melted onions), the pasta also. My recommendation!

The place was chosen as higly recommended by TripAdvisor, however we didn't find anything special in it. The food was OK, but not more than that.

Small village with own history.

A small hotel with just seven rooms, simple but equipped with all comforts. In the center, it also has an excellent restaurant. I ate very well, the portions are very generous and we notice a remarkable attention both in the preparation and in the presentation of the dishes. I personally recommend the delicious s'Wirtshausshnitzel, a cutlet with a breading enriched with small flakes of bacon and crunchy onion. The host, Wolfgang, was a perfect host, friendly and welcoming, discreet and very professional. Finally, I consider the value for money of both the hotel and the restaurant to be excellent. I highly recommend it.

Unbelievable flavors. Kind & quick service! Breaded pork loin and salmon dishes were outstanding. I can’t say enough good things about the quality of food & perfect preparation!!

The fun was very good, big portions, service was quick....I have been to Oberammergau, seven times and this the first time I ate here. Should have gone here sooner!

Excellent meal – don’t miss this spot if you are in Oberammergau. Great atmosphere and wonderful meal. Had an outstanding dessert too. English menus were offered and staff also could converse in English. We had good service and the staff was friendly. I had the veal steak and my husband had the salmon. Nice menu with German standards and more. Our meals were terrific – don’t miss this spot!

Petty quick service and inviting staff. Good food and very affordable. Manage expectations, you’re not getting snobby French food...you’re getting hearty German cuisine and there isn’t anything but that here.

Hello lamb chops! We started with the pancake soup and corn! Delicious! Moved on to the lamb chops and turkey salad. Everything was fresh, I still can't get over how we haven't been to a restaurant that has served brown lettuce in a salad. The turkey on the salad was pretty good, but the lamb chops stole the show. These were by far my favorite. So moist and flavorful with a mustard mixture on the outside that balanced them out perfectly! We finished with a wonderful little apple strudel! Great service and wonderful decor! We would definitely come back!

Wirtshaus is both an excellent hotel, and an excellent restaurant. Wolfgang and Annette are fantastic and welcoming hosts who are always willing to provide expert tourist advice and share fun stories. Whenever I return to Oberammergau, I will certainly be staying here again.

One of the newest restaurant in town, very clean and nice atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious bavarian cuisine. Located downtown, next Pilatus Haus, has a nice biergarten and beautiful views.
